Blaine Hill, Pastor

Blaine Hill, pastor, grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia. He attended undergraduate school at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia earning a BA in May of 1994. He worked as a counselor/teacher and a salesman from 1994 - 1997. For seminary he relocated to Atlanta to attend Columbia Theological Seminary. He earned a Master of Divinity in May of 2001. In 1996 he married Laura also of Virginia and they have 4 young children: Jack, Joseph, Isaac, and Eloise. Blaine and Laura served for a year as mission volunteers in Kerala, India in 1999-2000. They have resided in Lexington since 2005 when he took over as pastor of Cherokee Presbyterian Church. His interests include music, outdoor activities, reading, cooking and time with his children. Tim McAneney, Music Director

Tim has served as the Worship Music Leader at CPC since the fall of 2005. He and his wife of 28 years, Beth reside in Florence, SC. They have three sons, Michael (26), Galen (23) and Josh (20), who live in the Columbia area.  Tim also works as a branch manager for an industrial supply company and as a personal trainer a gym, both in Florence.  He has played the piano since the age of 9 and has been actively involved in Christian music since 1975 in bands and church.  Little Known Fact: He paid for piano lessons by being shot out of a cannon at the circus. music@cherokeepresbyterian.com 

 


Liz Cely, Director of Youth Ministry and Outreach

Elizabeth grew up in Bay City, Michigan.  She received her undergraduate degree at Alma College in Michigan, earning a BA in May 2000.  She then attended Union Theological Seminary and Presbyterian School of Christian Education, now known as Union Presbyterian Seminary, in Richmond, Virginia.  Liz received her Master of Divinity degree in May 2004 and was ordained by the PC(USA) in July 2010.  She is married to Robert Cely, Jr., orginially from Columbia, South Carolina. They have three young boys, Wylie, Thomas and Samuel and a new baby girl, MaryMac.  She has worked part-time as the Youth Director at CPC since October 2008.  Little Known Fact: She always wanted to be Wonder Woman when she grew up and still does.


Denise DuBose, CPC Secretary

Denise, born in Lexington, South Carolina, grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. Although she was around all those Gator fans, she has remained true to the Gamecocks! She received a Bachelors degree in Marketing from The University of North Florida. After working with an advertising firm for 7 years, she decided to move back to South Carolina in 2007 to work with her father in several family owned companies.   Denise started working with CPC in the fall of 2009 but has been worshiping here since 2008.  She is the proud mother of 2 four-legged daughters, Daisy and Shelby.  Little Known Fact: She learned to field dress a deer at the ripe age of 7. 


Pat Jeffcoat, Volunteer Director of Children’s Outreach

Pat was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina.  At the age of 12, Pat fell in love with childcare and has been involved with children ever since.  With 20+ years in this service, she was a perfect fit for CPC.  She and her daughter Claire have been members since 2005 and are both very active in the church.  Pat has been married to her husband John for 15 years.  Little Known Fact: Pat was married to her husband at the childcare center that she still works at with 150 children as her guests on Valentines Day.

 

Audrey Reese

Audrey Reese and her husband Ashley recently relocated to West Columbia from Charleston, where Audrey served as the Director of Educational Ministries at Sunrise Presbyterian Church. She is a Candidate for ordination under care with the Charleston-Atlantic Presbytery and a graduate from Boston University School of Theology. Audrey's passions include mission, service, and outreach. She enjoys dancing, coffee, and spending time with her husband and their three dogs, Guinness, Murphy, and Scout. She is excited about being back in Columbia closer to her family, and looks forward to serving the congregation at Cherokee.
